Product Details

Blaze Plus 50/12.5mg tablet combines Losartan Potassium (50mg) and Hydrochlorothiazide (12.5mg). This combination is primarily used in the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure) and diabetic nephropathy (kidney disease caused by diabetes in type II diabetes). Losartan is an Angiotensin-II antagonist, while Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic that helps reduce fluid retention.

Precautions

• Renal (kidney) impairment, hepatic (liver) impairment, and conditions like aortic stenosis, arrhythmias, and severe heart failure should be monitored closely.
• Renal artery stenosis, kidney transplantation, and patients with a history of angioedema should exercise caution.
• Regular monitoring of serum potassium levels is recommended, especially for elderly patients and those with kidney issues.

Contraindications

• Renal artery stenosis (narrowing of kidney arteries)
• Severe hepatic (liver) impairment

Dosage

• Take as prescribed by your healthcare provider, typically once daily with or without food. Preferably, take it on an empty stomach, 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals.
