Blokium 25mg contains Atenolol, a selective beta-1 receptor blocker used primarily for the treatment of hypertension, angina pectoris, heart rhythm disorders, and to reduce the risk of myocardial infarction (heart attack). It works by reducing systemic vascular resistance, decreasing the heart's demand for oxygen, and lowering blood pressure, without affecting the rate or intensity of ventricular contractions.

Warnings

• When Not to Use:

• Precautions:

Dosage

• Hypertension: 50–100 mg once daily.
• Angina: 50–100 mg once daily.
• Heart Attack: Start with 50 mg every 12 hours; gradually increase to a maximum of 300 mg/day.
• Heart Rhythm Disorders: 50 mg every 12 hours or 100 mg every 12 hours as required.
• Anxiety (Off-Label): 50 mg once daily, with dosage adjustments as needed.

Missed Dose

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible, unless it's almost time for your next dose. Do not double the dose to compensate for the missed one.

Overdose

An Atenolol overdose is serious and requires emergency medical intervention. Symptoms may include severe low blood pressure, slow heart rate, and breathing difficulties. Medical professionals may administer medications or use dialysis in severe cases.
