Clarion 500mg Tablets contain Clarithromycin, a macrolide antibiotic used to treat various bacterial infections. It works by binding to the bacterial ribosome, suppressing protein synthesis, and preventing bacteria from growing and multiplying. Clarion Tablets are highly effective against a wide range of infections caused by susceptible bacteria, making them a reliable treatment option for respiratory, skin, and soft tissue infections.

Purposes

The primary use of Clarion 500mg Tablets is to treat bacterial infections, including lower and upper respiratory tract infections such as bronchitis, pneumonia, pharyngitis, and sinusitis. It is also indicated for skin and soft tissue infections like cellulitis and folliculitis. Additionally, Clarion is used to manage certain mycobacterial infections, offering broad-spectrum antibacterial action for diverse conditions.

Warnings

• Renal Insufficiency: Use with caution in patients with severe renal dysfunction. Dosage adjustments may be necessary.
• Hepatic Dysfunction: Clarithromycin can cause liver issues, such as increased liver enzymes and cholestatic hepatitis. In severe cases, hepatic failure has been reported. If symptoms like jaundice, dark urine, or abdominal pain occur, discontinue Clarion immediately and consult a doctor.
• Hepatitis Risk: Some patients have experienced fatal liver failure, especially those with underlying health issues. Close monitoring is advised if any signs of liver problems appear.

Adverse Effects

Common side effects of Tablets include nausea, diarrhea, abdominal discomfort, headaches, and altered taste.
