Product Details
Clopid Asp Tablets 75/75mg contain two active ingredients: Clopidogrel and Aspirin. Clopidogrel works by inhibiting platelet activation, preventing blood clots, while Aspirin reduces platelet aggregation through the inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis. This combination is highly effective for reducing the risk of stroke, heart attacks, and other cardiovascular events. Clopid Asp provides dual protection against clot formation, particularly in patients who have suffered from Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS).
Purposes
The primary use of Tablets is to prevent ischemic events such as strokes and heart attacks in patients with a history of ACS or high cardiovascular risk. By combining Clopidogrel and Aspirin, the medication ensures comprehensive protection by targeting different pathways in the blood clotting process. Clopid Asp is an essential medication for individuals at high risk of recurrent cardiovascular issues.
Warnings
- Bleeding Risk: Patients taking Clopid Asp should be closely monitored for signs of bleeding, especially in the first few weeks of treatment or after surgery or invasive procedures. The combination of Clopidogrel and Aspirin can increase the risk of bleeding.
- Acquired Hemophilia: Clopidogrel has been associated with rare cases of acquired hemophilia. If bleeding occurs with prolonged activated Partial Thromboplastin Time (aPTT), stop the medication immediately and consult a specialist.
- Increased Bleeding in Stroke Patients: Patients who have had a recent stroke or transient ischemic attack should exercise caution with Clopid Asp due to the heightened risk of major bleeding events.
Adverse Effects
Common side effects of Clopid Asp Tablets include mild to moderate bleeding, such as nosebleeds or bruising, but serious conditions like thrombocytopenia, neutropenia, and severe anemia can also occur. Other rare but significant adverse reactions include thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP) and aplastic anemia. Prolonged use may lead to gastrointestinal bleeding or peptic ulcers.
Cautions
Due to the dual-action nature of Clopid Asp, patients with a history of severe liver conditions, active bleeding disorders, or hypersensitivity to Aspirin or Clopidogrel should avoid this medication. Regular blood tests and monitoring are recommended to identify potential complications early, particularly for those at risk of bleeding. Always store the medicine at room temperature, away from direct light and heat.
