Product Details

Drate Plus D Tablets combine the power of Alendronate Sodium and Cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3) to treat and manage osteoporosis. Alendronate targets bone resorption sites to inhibit osteoclast activity, reducing bone loss. Meanwhile, Cholecalciferol plays a key role in calcium and phosphate regulation, aiding in bone strength. Regular intake of  Tablets helps maintain bone density, especially in postmenopausal women at risk of fractures.

Purposes

The main purpose of Drate Plus D Tablets is to treat post-menopausal osteoporosis and reduce the risk of vertebral and hip fractures. This combination therapy ensures improved calcium absorption while preventing further bone deterioration in patients at risk for severe bone conditions.

Warnings

  • Warning 1: Other causes of osteoporosis, apart from estrogen deficiency, aging, and glucocorticoid use, should be investigated.
  • Warning 2: Watch for potential esophageal reactions like difficulty swallowing or new heartburn, and discontinue use if symptoms occur.
  • Warning 3: Drate Plus D Tablets are not recommended for patients with severe renal insufficiency, as it can lead to complications.

Adverse Effects

Common side effects include hypersensitivity reactions such as rash or urticaria, transient symptoms like muscle pain or malaise, and gastrointestinal issues like esophagitis or ulcers. In rare cases, severe skin reactions such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome may occur. Other potential effects include ocular issues like uveitis or scleritis.

Cautions

Patients taking Tablets should ensure adequate calcium and vitamin D intake to avoid small decreases in calcium and phosphate levels. Those with esophageal abnormalities or who cannot stay upright for at least 30 minutes after taking the medication should avoid use.
