The active ingredient, Pregabalin, works by reducing neuronal calcium currents, which plays a crucial role in alleviating pain, anxiety, and various pain syndromes.
Purposes
Gablin 25mg Capsules are prescribed for the management of neuropathic pain, particularly in conditions such as diabetic peripheral neuropathy, postherpetic neuralgia, and spinal cord injury pain. Additionally, it is used as an adjunct therapy for partial seizures in adults and for the treatment of generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) and fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS).
Warnings
Patients taking Gablin 25mg Capsules should discontinue use immediately if they experience symptoms of angioedema, such as swelling of the face or upper airway. This medication may also cause weight gain, especially in diabetic patients, who might need to adjust their hypoglycemic treatments accordingly. The potential for dizziness and drowsiness exists, which could impair the ability to drive or operate machinery, particularly in older adults.
