Product Details
Navidoxine Tablets are a combination medication containing Pyridoxine (Vitamin B6) and Meclizine. This unique formulation is designed to provide relief from nausea, vomiting, and vertigo, particularly those associated with motion sickness. Meclizine, a potent H1 receptor antihistaminic, works by blocking the signals that trigger the vomiting center in the brain and reducing the excitability of the middle ear labyrinth. Pyridoxine supports various metabolic processes, particularly in the metabolism of amino acids, contributing to overall wellness.
Purposes
Navidoxine Tablets are indicated for adults and adolescents over 12 years old to prevent and treat symptoms of nausea, vomiting, and vertigo. These tablets are especially effective in managing motion sickness and can be used both prophylactically and for symptomatic relief.
Warnings
- Elderly Patients: Special care is needed when administering Navidoxine to elderly patients due to an increased sensitivity to its sedative effects. Reduced doses for a limited time period are recommended.
- Driving and Operating Machinery: Caution is advised when driving or operating heavy machinery, as this medication may cause drowsiness.
- Prolonged Use: Extended use may increase the risk of dental caries and confusion, particularly in elderly and mentally ill patients.
- Allergy Testing: Discontinue use four days prior to allergy testing to avoid interference with test results.
Adverse Effects
Common side effects of Navidoxine Tablets may include drowsiness, dry mouth, constipation, and stomach disorders. Less frequently, patients may experience eye disorders such as glaucoma, balance and movement issues, nervousness, and insomnia. If any of these effects persist or worsen, seek medical advice.
Cautions
- Urinary Retention and Obstruction: Use with caution in patients with urinary retention, digestive or urinary obstruction, or decreased gastrointestinal motility.
- Interaction with Other Medications: Navidoxine may enhance the effects of other CNS-active drugs, such as sedatives, sleeping pills, and alcohol. This can increase the risk of adverse effects.
- Children and Specific Conditions: Do not use in children under 12 years of age, or in patients with prostate or liver insufficiency, or those with angle-closure glaucoma.
Pregnancy Category
Always consult your physician before using Navidoxine Tablets during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
