Novoteph 40mg Capsules contain esomeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor that works by blocking the enzyme responsible for producing stomach acid. This results in a significant reduction in acid secretion, helping to alleviate conditions like acid reflux, GERD, and peptic ulcers.  Capsules are commonly prescribed to manage and prevent conditions associated with excessive stomach acid production.

Purposes

Novoteph 40mg Capsules are used to treat conditions such as heartburn, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), gastritis, and stomach ulcers. By reducing stomach acid, they allow the healing of the esophagus and stomach lining, preventing damage caused by excessive acid. Capsules also help prevent the recurrence of ulcers, especially in patients with a history of stomach or intestinal issues.

Warnings

Long-term use of Capsules may increase the risk of osteoporosis-related fractures, particularly in patients taking higher doses or using the medication for more than a year. Hypomagnesemia (low magnesium levels) has been reported with prolonged use. Avoid combining Capsules with clopidogrel, as this may reduce the effectiveness of the latter in preventing blood clots.

Adverse Effects

Common side effects of Capsules include headaches, gastrointestinal upset, and dry mouth. In rare cases, more serious reactions like angioedema, anaphylaxis, and fundic gland polyps may occur.
