Product Details

Ulsanic Tablets 500mg contain Sucralfate, a specialized medication used to manage and alleviate symptoms associated with acidity and heartburn. Sucralfate works by forming a protective barrier over the ulcer base in the stomach. This barrier shields the ulcer from pepsin and bile and inhibits the diffusion of gastric acid, promoting healing and reducing discomfort.

Purposes

Ulsanic Tablets are indicated for the treatment of conditions such as gastric ulcers, duodenal ulcers, chronic gastritis, and reflux esophagitis. They are also effective in providing relief from symptoms of peptic ulceration, including epigastric pain and vomiting. For patients who have recently healed from a duodenal ulcer, Ulsanic Tablets can be used as maintenance treatment to prevent recurrence.

Warnings

Ulsanic Tablets should be used with caution in patients with renal impairment, as there is a risk of aluminum accumulation and toxicity. It is important to monitor aluminum levels, as well as phosphate, calcium, and alkaline phosphatase levels in these patients. Ulsanic may also inhibit the absorption of phosphate, so caution is advised for patients with phosphate deficiencies. Bezoars have occasionally been reported, especially in severely ill patients or those with delayed gastric emptying.

Adverse Effects

Common side effects of Ulsanic Tablets 500mg include gastrointestinal issues such as constipation, diarrhea, nausea, and dry mouth. Less frequent side effects may involve dizziness, drowsiness, and skin rashes. If any severe symptoms or unusual reactions occur, contact your healthcare provider promptly.

Cautions

Before using Ulsanic Tablets, inform your healthcare provider if you have any renal impairment or are undergoing dialysis, as this may increase the risk of aluminum absorption. Ulsanic should be administered with caution in patients with phosphate deficiencies and those prone to bezoars. Always consult your physician before starting any new medication to ensure it is safe for your specific health condition.
