The A2A 100mg Tablet is an effective medication for managing hypertension and diabetic nephropathy in individuals with type II diabetes mellitus. It contains Losartan Potassium (100mg), an Angiotensin-II antagonist that helps lower blood pressure by relaxing blood vessels.

How to Use

Expert Advice:
- Take the tablet with or without meals; however, it is preferable to take it on an empty stomach, 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals.
- Contact your prescriber if you experience prolonged diarrhea (watery stools), nausea, vomiting, chest pain, palpitations, unrelieved headache, back pain, muscle pain, weakness, or swelling of the face, mouth, tongue, or throat.
- Avoid taking potassium supplements or salt substitutes without consulting your prescriber.
- Exercise caution in hot weather and limit alcohol intake.
- Change positions slowly when climbing stairs or moving from lying or sitting to a standing position.
Side Effects
Patients may experience:
- Common Side Effects: Dizziness, diarrhea, liver function abnormalities, myalgia, migraine, urticaria, pruritis rash.
- Rare Side Effects: Anaphylactic reaction, angioedema, hepatitis, cough, anemia, hypotension, renal impairment, increased blood urea, creatinine, and potassium levels.
Warnings
- Pregnancy: Contraindicated in pregnant females.
- Lactation: Contraindicated in lactating females.
- Driving and Alcohol: Avoid use while driving and alcohol consumption.
Precautions
Patients with the following conditions should exercise caution:
- Renal impairment
- Hepatic impairment
- Intravascular volume depletion
- Renal artery stenosis
- History of angioedema
- Severe heart failure or arrhythmias
It is advised to monitor serum potassium levels in the elderly and patients with renal impairment.
