Product Details

Celbexx 200 mg Capsule contains celecoxib, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that provides relief from pain and inflammation. It works by inhibiting the enzyme cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), which is responsible for the production of prostaglandins that cause inflammation, pain, and fever. Unlike other NSAIDs, Celbexx does not inhibit COX-1, which helps to reduce the risk of gastrointestinal side effects.

Purposes

Capsule is primarily used for the relief of symptoms associated with osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. It is also effective in managing acute pain in adults, particularly post-operative pain, offering quick and effective relief.

Warnings

• Celbexx may cause fluid retention and edema. Use with caution if you have conditions like heart failure, hypertension, or fluid retention, as these conditions could be exacerbated.
• As with other NSAIDs, Celbexx can cause or worsen high blood pressure. Monitor your blood pressure regularly while taking this medication to prevent cardiovascular events.
• Patients showing signs of liver dysfunction or with abnormal liver test results should be monitored closely while on Celbexx. If symptoms of liver disease develop, discontinue the use of this medication.

Adverse Effects

Common side effects of Capsule include gastrointestinal issues like abdominal pain, diarrhea, and nausea. Some patients may also experience dizziness, headache, or respiratory symptoms such as pharyngitis and sinusitis. Serious but less common side effects include cardiovascular issues like aggravated hypertension, heart attack, and stroke. Other potential adverse effects include gastrointestinal bleeding, liver and kidney problems, and severe skin reactions.

Cautions

Patients on long-term corticosteroid therapy should not abruptly discontinue the use of corticosteroids while taking Celbexx as it may lead to the exacerbation of their condition. Additionally, Celbexx is not a substitute for corticosteroids. Always taper off corticosteroids gradually under medical supervision when stopping their use. Be sure to consult your healthcare provider before starting 200 mg Capsule, especially if you have underlying health conditions. Store this medication at room temperature, away from direct light and heat.
