Mucaine Suspension combines the benefits of three active ingredients: Aluminium hydroxide, Magnesium hydroxide, and Oxethazaine. This unique formulation offers a dual action approach to managing symptoms of acidity and heartburn. Aluminium hydroxide and Magnesium hydroxide work together as antacids to neutralize excess stomach acid, while Oxethazaine, a potent local anesthetic, provides immediate relief from pain by numbing the stomach lining.

Purposes:

• Acidity Relief: Neutralizes excess stomach acid to alleviate discomfort.
• Heartburn Management: Provides symptomatic relief from heartburn and indigestion.
• Pain Relief: The local anesthetic effect helps reduce pain associated with acid-related conditions.

Warnings:

• Allergic Reactions: This suspension contains methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E 218) and propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E 216), which may cause allergic reactions in some individuals. Consult with a healthcare provider if you have concerns about potential allergies.
• Dosage: Shake the bottle well before use. The suspension should be taken undiluted but may be followed by a sip of water if desired. It is recommended to take Mucaine 15 minutes before meals and at bedtime for optimal results.

Adverse Effects:

• Common Side Effects: Mucaine may cause gastrointestinal disturbances such as diarrhea due to Magnesium hydroxide and constipation from Aluminium hydroxide. These effects are typically balanced in this formulation.
• Uncommon Side Effects: Possible skin reactions, including dermatitis or hives, inflammation of the tongue, and in rare cases, dizziness, faintness, or drowsiness at higher doses (>60 ml/day).

Cautions:

• Young Children: In young children, particularly those with renal impairment or dehydration, Magnesium hydroxide may cause hypermagnesemia. Use with caution and consult a healthcare provider before use.
• Kidney Function: Avoid use in patients with severe kidney failure or other significant health issues affecting kidney function.
