Purposes

Ringer Solution 500 cc is primarily used for treating hypovolemic states such as dehydration and hemorrhage. It is recommended as initial therapy for severe diarrhea and vomiting, and for rehydration in severe dehydration due to diarrhea. Additionally, it is used for trauma, burns, and for replenishing extracellular fluid before, during, and after surgery. This solution is also beneficial in environmental emergencies like heat illness and severe perspiration.

Warnings

Ringer Solution 500 cc should be used with caution in patients with cardiac failure or severe liver damage, and in cases where sodium intake is restricted due to its sodium chloride and sodium lactate content.
