ROCEXON 250mg Injection 1s contains Ceftriaxone (Na) 250mg, a cephalosporin antibiotic that works by disrupting bacterial cell wall formation, stopping the bacteria from growing and spreading. This makes it effective in treating serious bacterial infections.

Purposes

Bacterial Meningitis

Used for treating bacterial meningitis, an infection of the protective membranes covering the brain and spinal cord, typically caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae or Neisseria meningitidis.

Bacterial Septicemia

Effective for treating bacterial septicemia, a serious blood infection caused by bacteria like Staphylococci and Streptococcus pyogenes.

Gonococcal Infection

Used to treat gonococcal infections, a sexually transmitted infection caused by Neisseria gonorrhoeae.

Urinary Tract Infections

Treats urinary tract infections caused by bacteria such as E.coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Enterococci.

Pneumonia

Prescribed for community-acquired pneumonia, a common lung infection caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae and Haemophilus influenzae.

Bone and Joint Infections

Used in the treatment of bone and joint infections like septic arthritis and osteomyelitis caused by Staphylococci and Streptococci species.

Warnings

  • Clostridium difficile-Associated Diarrhea: May cause severe diarrhea due to bacterial imbalance; seek medical attention if symptoms develop.
  • Neonates: Not recommended for use in neonates under 28 days old.
