Vonozan contains 10 mg of Vonoprazan, a Potassium Competitive Acid Blocker (P-CAB). It works by specifically targeting and inhibiting potassium ion binding to the proton pumps in the stomach lining. This action effectively reduces the production of gastric acid, offering significant relief from conditions related to excess stomach acid.

Vonozan is prescribed for the following conditions:
- Gastric Ulcer: Provides treatment for active gastric ulcers.
- Duodenal Ulcer: Treats active duodenal ulcers.
- Reflux Esophagitis: Eases symptoms of reflux esophagitis by reducing stomach acid.
- Prevention of Ulcer Recurrence: Prevents the recurrence of gastric or duodenal ulcers, especially during low-dose aspirin or NSAID therapy.
Dosage:
- Gastric & Duodenal Ulcers: 20 mg daily for 8 weeks (gastric ulcer) or 6 weeks (duodenal ulcer).
- Reflux Esophagitis: 20 mg daily for 4 weeks.
- Prevention of Ulcer Recurrence: 10 mg daily.
Overdose:
While cases of overdose are not well-documented, Vonoprazan is not removed from the body by hemodialysis. In the event of an overdose, provide symptomatic and supportive treatment.
Missed Dose:
If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible on the same day. If you do not remember until the next day, skip the missed dose. Do not double up on doses. Consult your healthcare provider for advice on adjusting missed doses.
